Keeping It Nearby

Then of course there is the utility of having a camera always at your side - assuming one keeps the cell phone always by one's side.

On Saturday night the kids were all ready for bed and were just relaxing watching TV when my daughter, a 2-year-old bundle of energy who stops for very little, walked over to where her brother was propped up, plopped herself down and put her arm around him, stroking his hair.

It was one of those moments I was grateful for the Treo's ease of use, quiet shutter and her calm.

The sky was great yesterday in Bronson Park.

A Few More

Trying to live up to the Random Images tag, here are a few, well, random images. Again, all from around the Civic Center. There was in the last few days a convention it seemed of these little old ladies, all in red hats of one sort or another and red boas or scarves. Probably visiting City Council for a proclamation or the like. A few found their way down to the mall for lunch, though one seemed to be having a hard time deciding where to eat.

The Caltrans building continues to fascinate. The first floor windows have a handful of posters urging traffic safety, all lit up by this sickly green light.

Then there's City Hall East, the behemoth with little redeeming architectural value. There is, though, a grace to the walkway that leads away from it over Temple Street.

Random Images

Given the hiatus, I thought I'd throw up a handful of images made in the last couple weeks, not tied to any theme, really.

At left is an orange tree, with the light comoing from the adjacent window illuminating the fruit. The camera does surprisingly well in low light.

The bird of paradise were also illuminated by a house light, this one a brighter exterior light.

I was standing in the bank not that long ago and was struck by the reflection of the lighting in the worn, polished marble.

Light again can be problematic. I like the colors and contrast in the photo below, taken in my back yard, but the resolution seems to suffer in bright sun.

Technical issues?

Back in the West after a little break over the holidays and have a few more images to post - helped by a weather system that broke up 257 days of sunny and 72. Unfortunately, can't get the photos to post at the moment, so check back in a day.
