Recurring Themes
Nearly a year ago I shot this house on Temple Street with the Treo (below), and when I went past it not than long ago I happened to have the Canon in the car and tried again. There's something about this mock Victorian cheek-by-jowl with a bad L.A. stucco job that drew me. That and the wires.
It was also interesting to see how the 50mm lens on the Canon gave a different perspective than the wider lens on the Treo.

One of the Joys of L.A.
What is most engaging to me about Los Angeles, in many ways, is the ability to turn off a main road and run into something totally unexpected or incongruous. That happened recently when I was driving with my son west on Sunset Boulevard from downtown. We pulled off for a quick stop, and I don't now recall if I was in Echo Park or had gotten all the way to Silver Lake, but we came across the winding street that had a touch of rural chapparal.

Cheap, Cheap, Cheap
The costliest piece of this image was in the processing. Had another roll of that 99 Cents Only Store color film in the fridge, so I thought I'd throw it in one of those toy cameras my kids had lying around - the kind that makes a $22 Holga look pricey. The results were as uneven as I'd expected, but I kind of liked the way it rendered the textures of this truck parked in an alley in Pasadena.
